Modern Records' pioneer and co-founder Joe Bihari was interviewed by John Broven at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio on October 21 in the series From Songwriters to Soundmen: The People Behind the Hits. The audience was fixated as Bihari related how he and his brothers, Jules and Saul, came to release recordings in the 1940s and 1950s by artists of the stature of B.B. King, Elmore James, Etta James, John Lee Hooker, Ike Turner, Howlin' Wolf, Jesse Belvin and many more. Joe was a principal interviewee in John's book "Record Makers and Breakers." The Ace/Modern CDs were widely praised. |
